Traditionally, studies for first-year students at our university began with Zero Week. This is the week during which students learn to study. Beginners are told how to pass exams, what is the difference between a teacher and a lecturer, a lecture and a lesson, what can be done in extracurricular time, etc. This year, a meeting with psychologists was organized for students because the mental health of Ukrainians is more important than ever. One more meeting was organized with our graduate Maksym Miskov - a military personnel who has been defending our state since the first days.

Within the framework of the Summer School, held with the assistance of the Center for Water Resources of Newcastle, scientists and postgraduate students of NUWEE for two weeks studied the general topics of research in the field of water resources with colleagues from the University of Newcastle (Great Britain).

Within the framework of the International Summer School, a delegation of representatives of the National Academy of Sciences visited the University of Agriculture in Krakow.

On July 13, 2023, teachers and graduate students of our university visited the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy of the Krakow University of Agriculture (Hugo Kollantai Krakow Agricultural University).

Dear colleagues!

1236 participants from 69 countries took part in the 1st World Science Championship in Dubai, which lasted from August 7 to 21, 2023. Works were presented in 38 branches of science. Awards were won by 360 scientists. In the overall team standings, China took 1st place, 2nd place – USA, 3rd place – UAE, 4th place – India, 5th place – France, 6th place – Great Britain, 7th place – Brazil, 8th place – Israel, 9th place – Ukraine, 10 place - Australia.

Recently, a strategic session of the members of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities was held at the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv), which includes UCU itself, the Kyiv School of Economics, the National University "Dniprovska Polytechnic", Sumy State University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and our native NUWEE.

Despite the danger and difficult situation related to the war in Ukraine, foreign students continue their studies at the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering. This year, 9 students from different countries and different majors successfully graduated, showing motivation and resistance:

Participation of young scientists of NUWEE in the round table "Research and Higher Education for Recovery of Ukraine"

On July 21, 2023, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine hosted a round table on the topic: "Research and Higher Education for Recovery of Ukraine", organized by the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The last type of competition scheduled in the sports calendar for the 2022-2023 academic year has ended. For the first time, the NUWEE 4x4 volleyball championship was held. The winners were team of the Institute of Construction and Architecture: Zemba I., Zemba M., Shevchuk Y., Gavrylenko V., Kachula B. The Institute of Economics and Management took second place, and the team of institutes took third place.

The Department of Physical Education and the Sports Club held the Universiade of the NUWEE in full and the university championships among students in 11 kinds of sport.
