On April 16, 2021 NUWEE “INTERADIS / International Students Adaptation and Integration” project team participated in the third online study visit held by the Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden (Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden), Germany.
The study visit was aimed to enlighten the data outcome from surveys conducted in the Ukrainian partner universities within the project and International students’ admission and integration practices of OTH Amberg-Weiden.
Programme of the study visit included:
- Welcome by Vice-President of OTH prof. Ulrich Muller.
- Virtual "Kaffeerunde" with wonder.me.
- Data analysis of academic and administrative staff survey outcome and International students’ survey outcome (Breakout Room Group Work, allocating the responses to work packages).
- Best Practices of OTH AW.
- Tools for coordinating the international student life cycle: Mobility Online, Orientation Days, Buddy Program
- “Get connected!” - Networking possibilities for international offices in Germany.
More than 40 participants from eight Ukrainian universities and Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine had the possibility to learn from the best European practices of International students’ admission and integration. The NUWEE project team during this visit was represented by the staff of the Centre for International Cooperation and Education, academic staff and Grant Project Department.
The Questionnaires for administrative and academic staff and International Students deal with the issues of the strategy of internationalization (level of implementations, key drivers, how is quality assurance of internationalization managed), International students recruitment, admission and integration and adaptation practices, suggestions for further development. About 200 administrative and academic staff and 200 international students took part in the survey.
Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden presented also their developed Digital Solutions to manage exchanges and admission within the project “Internationalization 2.0” implementation, integration practices including “Buddy programme”, Student career service and benefits from the German Network of International Offices functioning.
