Using information from open sources (data from the EU Information Service - Community Research and Development Information Service (CORDIS), EACEA Projects Results Platform, MES, CMU, National Research Fund of Ukraine), the Center for International Projects "Euroeducation" determined the efficiency rating of participation of higher education institutions of Ukraine in the main competitions scientific projects (international and domestic) in 2023.
The RK rating for an individual HEI was calculated using the combined formula of six coefficients. In particular: the coefficient of the number of projects won at the HORIZON Europe competition with a weighting coefficient of 0.3; coefficient of the number of projects won at the Erasmus KA2 competition with a weighting factor of 0.2; coefficient of the number of projects won at competitions of the National Research Fund of Ukraine with a weighting coefficient of 0.2; the ratio of the number of projects won at the state-ordered project competition with a weighting factor of 0.15; the coefficient of the number of projects won at the competition of projects of young scientists with a weighting factor of 0.1, and the coefficient of the number of projects won at the competition of bilateral projects with a weighting factor of 0.05. All indicators are defined as the total number of projects won in the current year, reduced to a single basis.
Therefore, the following are the quantitative indicators and coefficients of NUWEE in the rating: Erasmus+K2 competition – 2, state-ordered competitions – 2; contests for projects of young scientists – 2, number of projects – 4, number of types of contests won by higher education institutions – 3, Kka2 – 0.13, Kdz – 0.50; Kmv – 0.22; the quantitative value of the rating is 0.122.
By the way, in addition to the above-mentioned rating, the Center for International Projects "Euroeducation" also conducts a number of other studies of the activities of Ukrainian higher education institutions: the rating of universities of Ukraine "Top-200 Ukraine", World Universities Web Ranking, rating of accreditations of educational programs of higher education institutions of Ukraine, participation of higher education institutions in joint contests for research works within the framework of bilateral intergovernmental programs of scientific and technical cooperation and others.
