NUWEE procedures on recruitment of students with fewer opportunities and useful information

An agreement on exchange programs implementation between partner-universities and ECTS credits transfer system allows recognizing the results obtained by the student during the mobility program at the host university, information on the procedure of recognition of academic results achieved during the mobility program is available at https://nuwm.edu.ua/mizhnarodna-diialnist/legal-base and includes

The National University of Water and Environmental Engineering:
  • respects in full the principles of non-discrimination, promotes and ensures equal access and opportunities to mobile participants from all backgrounds, in particular disadvantaged or vulnerable groups;
  • applies a selection process that is fair, transparent and documented, ensuring equal opportunities to participants eligible for mobility;
  • ensures recognition for satisfactorily completed activities of study mobility and, where possible, traineeships of the NUWEE students participating in the mobility program;
  • charges no fees, in the case of credit mobility, to incoming students for tuition, registration, examinations or access to laboratory and library facilities. 
NUWEE guarantees commitment to inclusion and diversity from all actors in the programmes’ actions and a positive approach to diversity of all kinds in the projects, inclusion and diversity aspects are taken into account at all stages of the mobility programs management and project life-cycle (promotion, outreach, support, assessment), during (participant selection, preparation, implementation, results, etc.) and after the project (evaluation, dissemination and exploitation of project outcomes, follow-up).
To apply for the mobility program student must meet the following criteria:
  • to be a student of one of the educational NUWEE programs (2-5 years of study);
  • to have a valid international passport;
  • to have suffiecient foreign language level according to the CEFR;
  • to provide all the necessary documents according to the Regulations on academic mobility at the NUWEE within the recruitment deadlines.
Main criteria for students willing to participate in the mobility programs are: academic performance, level of foreign language according to CEFR with minimum B1, motivation letter and active social and life position. Main selection criteria for academic staff are as follows: relevance of the research field; potential benefits and impact on professional development for the participant and the institute, level of foreign language according to CEFR. 
The University guarantees equal access to education without any discrimination. Applicants from vulnerable categories (orphans, internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, etc., i.e. persons with fewer opporunuities) receive social scholarships, and dual education is being implemented at the NUWEE, enabling working youth to move up the career ladder and become financially stable members of society. For the same purpose, individual study plans are used for some students to combine work and study. The scientific library provides students and teachers with free access to literature and the Internet. The Center for Career Development and Entrepreneurship Support has been established to help students find jobs. NUWEE strives to provide students with fewer opportunities the access to educational materials in the most convenient format for them; cooperates with all departments in the development and implementation of inclusive policies at our university and beyond. Each academic group has its own curator who accompanies them throughout their studies and helps them overcome various problems. The Recruitment Commission while selecting the mobility program participants also gives preference to candidates with fewer opportunities:
  • Person with fewer opportunities, a candidate having the status of a person with fewer opportunities confirmed in the course of the process of recruitment to the Programme based on the candidate's data retained at the University or based on the information/documents submitted by him/her, is awarded an additional bonus of 3 points.
The following documents to prove the fewer opportunities status are recognised: certificate on social scholarship award, disability certificate, receiving grant students with disabilities, certificate on internally displaced status.
