Will a powerful multidisciplinary research university be created in Rivne by the end of the year? With such an initiative, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Mychailo Wynnyckyj, visited the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering.

A round table on the development of higher education in the Rivne region was held in the walls of NUWEE with the participation of representatives of the central, regional and local authorities, as well as heads of the city's higher education institutions. The topic for discussion was the strategy for the development of higher education in Ukraine, proposed by the Ministry.

Mr. Mychailo emphasized that Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, pays special attention to our region, because we have a fairly advantageous geographical position, and the region is known for having a small number, but high-quality higher education institutions.

As you know, the strategy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine regarding the development of higher education envisages the unification and consolidation of higher education institutions. One of the proposals is the creation of a large and super-powerful university in the city of Rivne on the basis of the existing ones, which could be of all-Ukrainian importance. In general, the discussion of such an idea during the round table was very lively, and everyone present joined it. Viktor Moshynskyi, rector of NUWEE, stated in his speech, followed by a quote, "We are ready and able to create such a university."

It should also be understood that there is currently no question of unification. This is a long way that will be discussed and developed competently, consistently and strategically. Also, there are no unified decisions regarding the future structure, and the summer admission will take place as usual.
