A round table dedicated to the development of the NetZero concept for the city was held at the NUWEE a few days ago.
Scientists, students and representatives of the city government joined forces to find effective solutions to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. How will the city achieve climate neutrality?
What challenges are Rivne facing? The participants of the event were looking for answers to these and other questions.
The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, Nataliia Savina and the Deputy Mayor of Rivne, Artem Hanushchak. Among presents are students and employees of NUWEE, representatives of the city government. The round was based on 2 blocks: environmental and managerial approaches to reducing CO2 emissions. Thanks to the experience of such experts as Veronika Kolodych, Zinaida Budnyk, Alla Pryshchepa and Olha Biedunkova. Their scientific research and practical developments became the basis for discussing ways to optimize production processes and transition to a more ecologically clean economy. Also, within the framework of the round table, there was a lively discussion of proposed research and concepts and informal communication to establish better contacts.
It will be recalled that the NetZero project involves the development of the concept of reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and climate neutrality. Key activities include improving energy data management, creating a system for modeling energy development scenarios, and teaching students and professionals about renewable energy sources (RES) and energy efficiency (EE).
