In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1721 “On approval of decisions of the certification board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine” dated December 10, 2024, the printed scientific periodical of the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering “Rehabilitation and Recreation” (chief editor – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ihor Hryhus) is included in the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine, category “A”.

The category of the journal is an indicator of its significance, authority and level. Professional publications strive to set high standards for the quality of content and meet them. This is required by legislation and global trends: losses in the content area threaten the loss of “scientific” status.

Category “A” – the most prestigious journals. They are included in the list of WoS and Scopus peer-reviewed sources. They are the best and most extensive in the world. Such journals are considered the most authoritative, therefore publications are given the appropriate status. The requirements of the best platforms in the world are quite high, so indexing is the result of strict selection. Content and form are taken into account. These professional publications are included in the specialized list on a permanent basis, except for cases when they are directly excluded from scientometric databases.

Category "A" includes scientific periodicals of Ukraine that are included in the scientometric databases Scopus and/or Web of Science Core Collection. It is quite difficult to get into these databases, because such scientometric platforms put forward a number of their own requirements that journals must fulfill. To join the List of Journals (category "A"), the publication must submit certain documents to the Ministry of Education and Science.
