Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture (ICEA) celebrated its 60th anniversary.
The festive gathering was attended by current and former faculty members, researchers, staff, and guests.
Most of them not only began their professional careers at NUWEE but also graduated here and went on to engage in scientific and later pedagogical activities.
The director, Ruslan Makarenko, presented a report on the history and current state of the institute. Specifically, he spoke about the specialties that the institute first offered in 1964, its leaders, the current departments and specialties, the achievements of ICEA, as well as student life, including sports and cultural activities, and the institute's material and technical base. And, of course, he mentioned the pride of the institute—its alumni, of whom there are now nearly 13,000.
The director presented thanks and souvenir items from the university to the faculty members who have dedicated half a century, or even more, of their lives to their alma mater, their departments, and their disciplines.
Warm and heartfelt words, vivid memories, and expressions of gratitude were shared by the faculty. Each person wanted to recall something special that has remained with them throughout their professional journey. Unfortunately, the wartime conditions prevented a full-scale celebration, but everyone confidently wished that the next anniversary would be celebrated in peace and victory!
