For 10 years in a row, the NUWEE team joins the celebration of the World Embroidery Day. It is noteworthy that the number of people willing to take a joint photo in embroidered shirts to emphasize their national identity is growing every year.
Vyshyvanka occupies a special place in the culture of Ukraine. And for our ancestors, the vyshyvanka was not just a piece of clothing, but also a sacred amulet that protected against troubles, diseases, envy and negative energy. It has long been believed that a shirt embroidered with colored threads and decorated with patterns brought success and served as a talisman for the hostess or host.
This international holiday is designed to preserve ancient folk traditions of creating and wearing ethnic embroidered Ukrainian clothes. And today, in these difficult times, this holiday is more relevant than ever. After all, the embroidered Ukrainian clothing itself - a symbol of beauty and national identity, a talisman, a link between generations, the genetic code of our nation - once again reminds us of our strength, invincibility, faith and victory.
Among the guests who took part in the photoshoot was Oleksandr Aliksiichuk, a deputy of the "Servant of the People" party. Rector Viktor Moshynskyi together with the guest in their speeches noted the symbolism of this holiday, the unity of the participants of the action with our armed forces and confidence in the nearest victory.
And although mass events, like in peacetime, with flash mobs and fairs, competitions and concerts did not take place, each of the participants knew for sure: next year, the holiday together with the victory will be truly celebrated!
