Dissemination Event of the INTERADIS Project

The dissemination event of the Erasmus+ KA2 project, co-financed by the European Union, held at the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, this event was organized by the project consortium "INTERADIS / Integration and Adaptation of International Students."

The project coordinator is the Dutch Business Academy (Netherlands); the co-coordinator is the "KROK" University; project partners include Foggia University (Italy), Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (Germany), Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania), Hultgren Consulting Company, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Odessa National  Polytechnical University, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Mariupol State University, Sumy National Agrarian University, Ivan Franko National University, Ukrainian State Center for International Education, and NUWEE.

The event served as a platform for exchanging experiences and exploring new ways to support international students in their adaptation process in Ukraine.

Representatives from academia, local government, business, and students discussed key aspects of integrating international students into the social, cultural, and ethnic environment of Ukraine, as well as enhancing the qualifications of academic staff regarding working with international students for three days. Specific training and workshops were dedicated to international students who are remaining or planning to stay in Ukraine for their studies during the war.

On the first day of the official opening, participating universities presented their project results, became acquainted with the NUWEE Buddy group and the student parliament, and toured the university. Among the best practices presented were a roadmap for international students; features of developing and implementing an adaptation course for international students; a wide range of activities to improve administrative services for international students; and tools for attracting and adapting international students.

"The development of a comprehensive orientation and adaptation strategy for international students within the INTERADIS project was presented by the international cooperation officer, Centre for International Cooperation and Education, Halyna Vlasiuk.

The Ukrainian State Center for International Education presented the results the research  "International Students in Ukraine during the war."

The next day was dedicated to presentations from partner universities and local government representatives on the interaction between universities, business, and government for the adaptation and integration of international students. Notably, the event featured Tetiana Simchuk, a principal officer,  Department for International Cooperation and European Integration of the Rivne Regional State Administration, as well as Dmytro Yanushevskyi, the Director of the "InvestInRivne Agency."

There was an integration event from the NUWEE Buddy group and the student parliament, as well as an interactive quiz "Culture is speaking".

On the third day, project results continued to be presented by participating universities, and a workshop on international trends in education was held by representatives from Newcastle University titled "Global Education and Experience." Students had the opportunity to practice in an intellectual interactive fact-checking game called "The Note of the Raccoon."

We sincerely thank all project partners and event participants for their active involvement and willingness to share experiences in supporting international students during their adaptation process in Ukraine, as well as for contributing to the development of international education and integration processes in Ukraine.
