The Steel Freedom 2021 architectural competition took place on November 27 in Kyiv.
Since 2014, the Day of Knowledge for our senior students is traditionally the day of the competition. Competitive tasks 2021 are projects of public buildings located in the capital. Three teams of students of 3-6 courses majoring in "Architecture and Urban Planning" worked on them.
This year the competition was unique for our department for several reasons. For the first time, third-year students joined the competition, who also for the first time formed an interuniversity team with students of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".
On the task "Creating a business center project in Kyiv (the customer of the project is the development company UDP and CAN Development)" on the territory of the largest innovation park in Eastern Europe UNIT.City worked two teams curated by PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor Nataliia Lushnikova.
These are team B-761 consisting of Anastasia Dyak, Elizaveta Kolesnikova and Anastasia Sokol students of NUWEE, as well as students of NU "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Olena Shevchenko and Anastasia Gavrilko, specialty 192 Construction and Civil Engineering.
The S-360 team of our students consists from Maksym Brenkach, Vladislav Volynskyi and Anna Samsel worked on the project of the cultural center in Kyiv (Novyi Podil, Naberezhno-Luhova Street), which is to become the center of a new district on the banks of the Dnieper (customer of the project - Perfect Group and Riverside Development). Curator of the team - Honored Architect of Ukraine, Associate Professor of Architecture and Environmental Design Mykola Sholudko.
We are pleased to announce that the projects of the B-395 and B-761 teams became semifinalists of the competition, and the project of the S-360 team entered the top ten finalists in its category!
During the final of the competition Maxim, Anna and Vladislav successfully presented their project S-360 and for the first time in the history of our students' participation in the competition won the prize of partners - the Metipol company - in the profile nomination "The most original use of elements from steel with a polymeric covering at registration of a facade of the building"!
Congratulations to all our participants, as well as curators, and thank you for the excellent organization of the competition to the Ukrainian Center for Steel Construction.
It should be noted that every year the number of participating teams increases, as well as the level of implementation and presentation of submitted projects: this year it is 84 projects in two categories. The semifinals of the competition included projects of 74 teams, which were presented in the final exhibition: 44 of them in the category "Business Center" and 30 - in the category "Cultural Center".
In each category, the jury selected ten finalists who presented their projects at the Steel Freedom Architecture Festival 2021.
