Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) English Language Development Opportunities for NUWEE Students and Academic Staff

The next third call for participation in the certified programme "Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) English Language Development opportunities for NUWEE students and academic staff” is launched. The application deadline is 5 February 2024.

The programme provides free English language courses for NUWEE undergraduate and graduate students, PhD students and academic staff in small groups of 5-6 people. The courses are conducted online by the Newcastle University.

Next edition of PAL English Language Courses starts on 12 February 2024. Total number of participants: 36 undergraduate, graduate and PhD students, 6 academic staff.

90 students took part in the PAL English Language Courses during 2022-2023. In addition, 12 students completed a semester of study at the University of Newcastle, UK, as part of an international exchange program. This is a powerful opportunity to help students engage in cross-cultural learning and global learning on NUWE's home campus through accessible technological platforms. Benefits for the NUWEE students: learning and innovation skills: critical thinking and problem solving, communications and collaboration, creativity and innovation; digital literacy skills: information and media literacy, information and communication technologies literacy; career and life skills: flexibility and adaptability, initiative and self-direction, social interaction, productivity and accountability.
